Tonight I went out with some friends to a midnight premier... cried watching vampires fight werewolves...rocked out to Katie Perry in the car by myself at 2:30 in the morning...I AM THE BIGGEST DORK EVER! Tonight was so good for me. I have never been so stressed in my life as of late. But I love it because I would rather be stressed than sad, and I am not sad anymore. Sorry if this doesn't makes sense, it is almost 3AM. I am just happy and felt like posting.

Lately

So lately I have been getting 25 clothing samples ready for a buyer in Seattle for Zulily. It is an online children's clothing boutique and I am really excited about it! It has been keeping me very busy though. Here are just a few pictures of the products....

This is just a sneak peak I will be posting the whole spring line on my company Facebook page when/if Zulily approves of the samples and I have a scheduled event in the spring.

Also... My little brother Lance just got home from his mission. It was so good to see him. I love him to death. He looks so good. He is having a hard time speaking English now because he is so used to Spanish (served in Argentina). Rob and I are looking forward to having him come visit Columbus next weekend.

Also... I recently volunteered at another Dress For Success Columbus Event. I had so much fun. DFS is such a great organization and it was fun to attend the annual gala. The mayor spoke and the event was held in honor of Barbra Brant. It was great to hear Barbra speak. She is such an inspiring and motivating person. Moving Forward

Moving forward. I took down Isabella's nursery tonight. I was finally ready. I am sure people think I am so nuts for still having it up. I turned it into a work room. I am starting to make some headway on my business and I need more space to work. It feels good to have a fun distraction. Feels good to move forward.

Washington DC Wedding and Tahoe

This past few months have flown by. My little brother Quintin got married in early August. We attended his wedding in Washington DC. Here are a few pictures at the temple. We had a ton of fun hanging out with my oldest brother and his fiance Ellen. We basically had a 3 day double date and did some touring of the DC monuments and visited Gettysburg.

After we got back from DC we had two short weeks at home and then we were headed off to Lake Tahoe for a Hall Family Vacation. We had so much fun there. The lake was beautiful. We got very tan laying at the pool everyday. While we were there we ate TOO MUCH great food, went kayaking, tubing, golfing and I got a manicure/pedicure. Vacations are so wonderful. Thank you Hall family for a wonderful week.

Now we are home for a few more days and then on Friday we head out to Utah to attend my oldest brothers wedding and meet my new baby nephew Lincoln Micah Decker. I can't wait to snuggle the little guy. Here is a sneak peek of the little precious man... More pictures to come after this trip for sure.

Happy 5 Years Megs!

This is my card to you this year. I wanted all to know how much I love you and how great these last five years have been.

I can’t believe that 5 years ago today, I was spending the night at Jared’s house, preparing for the biggest day of my life and grinning from ear to ear. I couldn’t sleep that night because all I could do was think of you and how great eternity sounded.

Our big day, July 1, 2006 couldn’t have been scripted better. A beautiful warm summer day in Oakland with the most beautiful woman in the word is one that I will never forget. I don’t remember what was said by the sealer who married us for time and all eternity, but I will never forget the feeling that I had when I first saw you dressed in that beautiful white dress or our first kiss being married. Being surrounded by friends and family was great, but being with you that day was unforgettable.

The last five years sure haven’t been what we expected when we got married, but being at your side through thick and thin has made them the best years of my life. We have so many highs; Marriage, Vacations, Graduation, Moving to Ohio, finding our Little Tosh, etc. , and more than our share of sorrows. Those highs will forever outweigh our sorrows because they have brought the greatest memories of my life.

Our struggles with infertility and adoption have brought us so much closer together than we have ever been. Celebrating the indescribable joy of placement and the unbelievable pain, anger, hurt and depression that came when it fell through. I will never forget those moments of strength you had when I was hurting, or those long hours that we just held each other for support at the most difficult time of our life. Our faith has been strengthened through this trial as our Heavenly Father has comforted us when we needed it most, and our love for each other has increased through our suffering together.

I know this may not make much sense because I have a hard time putting my feelings into words, but I love you so much. These have been an incredible first five years together and I can’t wait to see what the rest of Time and all Eternity have in store for us!

A little bit of this and that

So our lives has been a little crazy the last few months. This little one turned 2. We are so in love with her that we got her a special pup-cake from the doggy bakery. She keeps us happy. My favorite thing lately is taking her to the park for a jog and splitting a vanilla milkshake from McDonald's on the way home. Kind of a mother daughter date if you will. I know I am a crazy dog person but at least its not a cat.

Also we have a nursery. We thought we were going to be adopting a daughter in May but it ended up not working out. I really had a ton of fun creating her nursery though. This is the result. If we end up adopting a son first we are really screwed because this is the girliest nursery in the world.

P.S. Michelle thank you for all your help on the drapes and the quilt. you were such a big help. Everything turned out just as I had envisioned.

My inspiration was eclectic cottage boutique. It was a ton of work but I love the way it turned out.

Thank you all for your prayers and calls this past month. After the adoption failed, Rob and I took a fun trip to Utah and spent lots of time with our family. We are recovering and feel so blessed to have eachother and tons of friends and family that care so much about us. This two little kiddos bring us so much happiness. Corey and Haley thank you for sharing them with us.

My oh my it has been a while...

So a couple of exciting events have come up in the last few months. First and foremost exciting news is that WE ARE APPROVED FOR ADOPTION! Next exciting thing... We took a trip to Pittsburgh. We just decided to go becasue we have never been before. We had a wonderful time. We visited "Falling Water" a house built on a waterfall designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. I have always wanted to go. We also went to the Pittsburg art museum and Museum of Natuaral History. Ate LOTS of good food! Visited a local street market. We kinda just did whatever we felt like. It was wonderful. For the most part Pittsburgh is a dirty city but it was fun to visit once.

Lastly I am going to be having a vendor booth at this show. I am excited as this will be my first experience doing something like this. I hope it might help with the launch of my new website scheduled 4-2-2011 Super excited to finally get this thing going.

Yay! We got a new couch! When we got married, Rob's parents donated their old couch to us. My mother-in-law and I recovered it and although we did a good job for 1st timers, it was really staring to show signs of wear. So I am happy to show off the new addition to our living room.

Adoption

This weekend Rob and I just attended a conference that has changed our life. It was held in Kirland Ohio put on by FSA (Families Supporting Adoption). We have decided to move forward with adoption to get our family started. After attending this conference all our doubts were gone and replaced by indescribable excitement. We are so excited to have a family and after trying to have our own biological child for so long feel very blessed to be guided to adoption. Who knows how long it will take for us to have a successful placement, we are posting this on our blog so that maybe you could help us. Please if you know any birth parents that are thinking about adoption PLEASE give them our information. Many successful adoption placements come though friends and family.

This beautiful song was preformed at the conference we attended. I was greatly touched by the words. What a sacrifice, but yet what a blessing.

-Rob went to CA. for Father's Day. His brother, cousin, uncle and dad all went to the U.S. Open at Pebble beach. They also golfed together twice, at Half Moon Bay and at Cinnabar.

-We took a trip to Chicago on our way to our friends wedding in Minnesota.

-When we were in Chicago we were told the sad news that Rob's Grandfather passed away.

-We decided to skip the wedding in Minnesota, we drove back to Columbus and caught a flight to Utah a few hours after arriving home.

-Spent some wonderful time with Rob's Family. Shared stories of his grandpa. Attended a viewing and funeral. We love you and miss you Grandpa Mont.

-Took a trip to Park City to celebrate our 4th anniversary. There Rob and I went on the sled and Rob went on the coaster. We went shopping at the outlets. Spent way too much money on some very delicious food. And enjoyed our stay at eh beautiful Park City Hotel and lodge.

-Attended the stadium of Fire featuring: Carrie Underwood, fighter jets, fireworks, and more.

-Spent lots of quality time with lots of wonderful people: Grandma Mona, Mom and Dad Hall, Jon, Haley, Adds, Corey Andrew, Y, Aunts Uncles and Cousins.

We are very blessed.

A Tribute to my Beautiful Bride

OK, I wanted to post something last week before July 1st, but due to the circumstances I wasn't able. I know that Megan will make a great post about our last week and a half's journey, so I won't spoil it for her in this post, other than saying that we had a great 4th anniversary in Park City. We were in Utah for my grandfather's funeral. It was a beautiful couple of days spent with family in celebration of the life of my Grandpa Mont. All of you who had the pleasure of meeting/knowing him know what a special and brilliant man he was and is. He will be sorely missed but I know that it is just for a season and that we will be with him together again someday.

Ok, now the original purpose of this post. I wanted to post about my beautiful wife Megan. We have had an amazing 4 years of marriage together and I couldn't imagine life without her. We have had some very tough trials that many of you are aware of, but we know that the Lord has a plan for us and that everything happens for a reason and in his time. I just wanted to post a few pictures of us over the last 5 years as kind of my Anniversary card to her because I'm always so terrible at getting cards, and actually writing on them.

Who came up with this anyway... it is like social networks .... I swear it is all a conspiracy to make us all dependent on technology. When I was 18 and in college I got along just fine without a cell phone, now if I forget my cell at home I practically go into a panic attack. I am not whole anymore without my 1/2 hour in the A.M. and P.M. of checking blogs, facebook statuses, email etc.. I can't even imagine my life with twitter! All hell would break loose.

So here is my dilemma I have bought into this "social network conspiracy" and now I am invested. I keep blogging although I have nothing new to say, except to talk about my dog and we all know that that isn't interesting anymore. So what to do? I feel guilty not blogging because to me that is my payment to you all for making me 1 hour less productive each day.

You people with kids have it easy, all you have to do is slap a few pictures up with the latest "kids say the darndest" and you have your viewers pouring comments into the box. Do you think I could pause this blog until I have kids? If I don't get 5 comments on this post... I swear I will do it.

Here I sit writing this post praying for inspiration to come. "Please help me find something interesting to say" so all my friends and colleagues won't know how lame I am. Nothin. I guess it's your call.

Tosh's 1 Year Stats!

Tosh turned 1 yesterday! Our little one is growing up so fast! We are so proud to be her parents. We went to the Doctors yesterday to get her one year stats:

Age: 7 dogie years=1 year
Height: 12" - 32%
Weight: 15 lbs - 21%
Length: 15" - 36%

Tosh's friend Eva ( Beagle / Bulldog mix) came over for some birthday fun. My friend Christa brought over party hats and I got the dogs cookies from the dog bakery!

They are so funny together, serious best friends. They only ever want to play together... they don't really care about any other dogs.

I don't know if everyone saw this during the Olympics but I love it! It gives me goose bumps every time I watch it. I hate tragedies but at the same time I love seeing people be good to each other. It is so amazing to see good people showing love for others they don't know.

Lately I have been volunteering at this amazing nation wide organization called "Dress for Success" I absolutlety love it! It is an organization to help boost the self confidence of under privileged women and help them to achieve their career goals. I have learned so much volunteering. The women that I get to work with are amazing people, they are so kind. It is wonderful to serve and to share my talents.

Fondue Night

Second Day's Better!

So when I was in high school my good friend Lauralee introduced my sister and I to the art of diffused hair. I used to wear my hair like this everyday but since I have become too practical about my hair and hardly ever wear it this way. BUT, my sister recently taught me a trick... If you defuse your hair the first day it looks OK... but if you re-defuse it the next day.... it look amazing! The SECOND DAY IS a million times BETTER! All you do the second day is spray your hair with water and add a little more styling foam, scrunch,dry,done. So if you're ever in the mood to feel great about your hair for a day try it. Also new favorite beauty product, LIPSTICK. I hardly ever wear it because I like lip gloss WAY better but Lipstick looks so polished and finished I am falling in love with it.

P.S. I just learned how to make these cute headbands so if you want to make some call me and we can craft together. They are so adorable.

San Diego via Salt Lake

We recently went on a trip to San Diego to celebrate my mother-in-laws BIG birthday! While we were there we also celebrated Rob's Birthday and Pappa Hall's. All of their birthdays are within a week so it was one big celebration! We had so much fun, thank you all for having your birthdays so we could come celebrate with you in beautiful CA. !

We went to sea world while we were there. No one got attacked by a killer whale thankfully...Haley?! This picture is of us touching the giant sting rays. The girls were so scared but we faced our fears and had a lot of fun.

This is me with my sweet baby niece. She is being so smiley and cute as always. I love that little one.

This is the VIA SALT LAKE part! My brother-in-law just found an awesome job in Salt Lake, CONGRATS Andy! Anyway the company gave him one week to move the family out there before he started work. my nephew is only 7 months and my sister was going to be driving alone with him so I came along to help with the babe and spend quality time with my sister. The 27 hour trip went very smooth and we were able to get here whole apartment unpacked. Her new apartment is super cute check out her blog to see how cute it all turned out... HERE. At the end of the trip before heading to the airport I took a nap with my favorite little boy in the world...pictured above. Love you little Y.

A couple of months ago we had Tosh enrolled in obedience school, the first night of class Rob happened to be gone on a business trip. I got Tosh and her things collected for the class and I headed out the door. I was a little flustered because I was running late and the instructor distinctly told us not to be late for the first class. As I approached my car I saw a cat wandering around the parking lot with it's tags on. I was very nervous because #1 I really don't like cats and #2 I thought it was lost and as a pet owner myself I felt responsible for getting it safety back to it's owner (If it was Tosh I would hope a dog hater would do the same). Anyway I tried to get my hands on the little thing but it kept hissing at me!!! Eventually somehow it ended up in the back seat of my car! yuck! Still Hissing at me. I was trying to look at the tags to get the owners information but every time I did, the cat would try to snap at me... and more hissing. At this point I called Rob a little hysterical and scared of the stupid cat (no idea what it was thinking he could do to help me???) Needless to say no progress was made by the phone call. So at this point my goal is just to get the mean cat out of my car. Oh did I forget to say that Tosh was FREAKING out this whole time! I finally get the cat out of my car and once again my conscience got the best of me... I chase the cat down to the far end of our complex's parking lot with Tosh in one arm. The cat hides behind a service shed and them I hear it... "Here kitty kitty" ARE YOU KIDDING ME! A girl was calling her precious Sushi back into her apartment. I was so relieved that the owner was there, but that relief soon to fumes as I realized that stupid girl just let her cat run free about the complex. The owner showed no remorse as I explained that I had spend the the last 20 minutes trying to track down her cat so the thing would not get hit by a truck... Well today I had the pleasure of finding this little evidance of revenge stuck in my door. It is so terrible but this actually made me very happy. I am so evil.

Can't Sleep

I can't sleep I HATE that! I hate it especially because I start thinking and worrying about everything.

Today was a good day, I hung out with my sister and good friend Lauralee. They both have sweet little 5 month old babies and it was fun to hug and kiss those sweet little babes. Hanging out with them made me think a lot about my life. It's funny how life doesn't turn out the way you want or expect it to... but it definitely turns out the way it was meant to.

Tomorrow I have a fertility appointment... I only write that personal piece of information because I know it won't shock any of the current four blog followers I have. I hope it goes well. I hope 2010 is a good year.

Few Things...

Actually a little more than a few things have happened recently so this MIGHT be THE longest blog post I ever write. Please do not feel like you have to read the whole thing.

Lets start at Thanksgiving. For Thanksgiving we met the Hall family in Nauvoo Illinois for a super fun and LOUD family reunion. We toured the sites, ate TONS of delicious food and enjoyed great company. Here is a picture of Carthage Jail where the Prophet Joseph Smith was martyred. It was an amazing experience to be at that sacred place where Joseph Smith was martyred and sealed his powerful testimony with his own blood.
Moving on...

The week before I left for Christmas break I was having a difficult time sleeping one night. Those of you who know me pretty well know that I HATED my job! My boss was a SUPER micro manager and many people I worked with were a little less than professional. Well anyway when I was awake at like two o'clock in the morning thinking about work and what to do with my life I decided to write my letter of resignation. In the morning I told Rob about the decision and he was fully supportive. He ran the letter through a couple of revisions and that morning I set it on my boss's desk. I cannot tell you how scary and relieving that day was.

Rob makes enough for us to live comfortably and he would rather that I am happy without an income than miserable with an income, It is so nice to have a husband that understands me.
SO, NOW what does this mean for me. Well first thing I am going to do is to get back in shape! I am going on a hard core diet to get my body healthy and back into shape and then I have goals for my baby clothing endeavors. I am going to start applying for small business grants and writing a business plan, sketching out more clothing design ideas and perfecting some of my patterns. I have a ton of work to do but I am so excited at the prospect of owning my own small business.

Moving on again...

Christmas was wonderful this year. It was our first Christmas married, spent in California. We had an amazing time eating delicious food, playing games and doting over our sweet baby niece. Santa was really nice to Rob and I this Christmas (Thank you everyone that was so generous to us this Christmas we are so grateful to you all). Rob being the romantic he is, surprised me with ballroom dance lessons... I am sure there will be a post about that in the near future haha. The two of you that read this blog are probably so sick of hearing about our pup but I had to post this last pic. When we got home from Cali, Tosh was so tired after having spend the week playing with a German Shepard mix that she slept for two days straight. COMPLETELY unlike her. We thought this picture was cute of her cuddled up in her blankies. It is sooooo rare that she is this calm.

This past weekend we had the fun opportunity of hosting our friends Jared and Chiara. It was Jared's birthday so we had tons of fun rampaging Columbus. Here are a few pictures of the fun.

While they were here we picked out, chopped down, and decorated a Christmas tree. In the process we made friends with a true Ohioan Hillbilly, gotta love the Midwest.

Go BUCKS! We went down to campus for some fun tailgating and street food, Yum.

There is this really cool place in Columbus called the candle lab where you can mix your own scents and make a candle. We had fun being creative.

Updates: Life is busy! Thats pretty much it in the Hall household. This weekend Rob and I finally got a weekend to ourselves to do what ever we wanted so we went to the zoo and then to the Columbus Italian Festival, both were so much fun! Here are some pictures of the zoo.

Here is a picture of two of my favorite people in the whole world. Lance, my little brother is leaving in four days for his mission to Argentina. I will miss him terribly, I love him so much. And the little guy in his arms is the most precious little baby boy ever created. I love that little guy. I guess you could call me a proud aunt. (P.S. I made the sleeper he is in...just had to brag a little.)

Today was a great day, I went to General Conference and learned so much. I left feeling very grateful for all the things I have been blessed with. I don't know how I got so lucky. I hope I never take these blessings for granted. God has blessed my life tremendously and I hope I can live in a way that shows him how grateful I am for what he has given me.

I can't tell you how happy I am to have my nephew finally here. Corey (my older sister) had little Wyatt Andrew Decker this past Monday. The little guy was born on the 17th at 6:01, he weighed 6 lbs and 15 oz. I wasn't able to be out there at the hospital so it was an interesting experience for me. What I was not expecting was the difficulty I had knowing my sister was in pain and I couldn't help. You know how when you love someone so much and it hurts you when they hurt... that's how I felt. It was a difficult but exciting and happy day. I miss my sister and can not wait to hold my little nephew. I love and adore him already and I haven't even met him.

I get to see him Monday and oh believe me there will be more pictures.

The other day I was looking all over for Tosh and she was no where to be found...Well I walk into the kitchen to find this:
Our little pup found a way to make herself disappear! She climbed up over the baseboard into an empty cavity in the cupboard!! Our funny little dog, hopefully soon she will be too big to climb in there.

My First REAL Job!

So ya know how I posted about my "BIG BREAK" a while back... well I GOT THE JOB! I started work this week. I like it allot but it is a little overwhelming. I have never had so much responsibily before and it scares me. I am so worried that I am doing a good job, working fast enough, saying the right thing etc... I am sure you all know the feeling.

Anyway I don't really like being the "NEW" person in the office. Monday was my 1st day and I accidentally parked in someones ASSIGNED parking spot, because I didn't know they were assigned. Anyway today one of my coworkers told me that the man whose parking spot I had stolen Monday, was really mad about it. So, me being the stupid girl I am, went up to him and apologized (I thought it was a nice gesture). Well He gave me the dirtiest look EVER and then he said very angrily "It's fine but don't do it again."

YAY, nice guy... so everyone one I have a new best friend!

Later today I found out that I don't even have a parking spot... I am THAT far down on the totem pole. I have to park on the gravel that is past the parking lot. Not going to lie it kinda sucks to be the new person and be given the office that is right under the air conditioner and the parking spot in the boonies.

But, I am very grateful I have this opportunity to use the skills and talents I have. And grateful to have a job right now in this ecconomy.

Another Update on the Puppy

Ok, so I have talked to a few people who have asked to see new pictures of the puppy. You won't be able to tell by comparing the new pictures to the last one, but she does seem to be growing fast. She is eating now which she didn't do much of the first couple of days, but she is just as cute as ever. She is the sweetest puppy I have ever met. She has gotten into this whole biting thing the last two days, but she will still cuddle with anyone anytime. Just look at these pictures... even if you aren't a dog lover, how can you not love this little face?! Enjoy this photos... I'm sure we will continue to take a bunch of pictures, and often so keep a close eye here because we'll post them.

New addition to our Family!

Well, Megan is at girls camp with the high school girls at church until Friday morning so I get to fend for myself this week. Thursday afternoon I will be going to pick up this little sweetheart for Megan to meet on Friday morning. Tasha, as we have named her, is a 6 week old beagle who is very sweet. I met her yesterday and we are very excited to have her in our home. This is the only picture I have of her right now, but next weekend I will definitely post some others.

Tasha is the bigger one playing with Meggie (yes, that's what the breeder's kids named the Runt!). She is so cute!

Ok so I am sorry I have been slacking so much lately on blogging... I have no excuses except that nothing interesting in my life has really happened in the last three weeks and I don't want to bore you (which is partially valid I promise). But... today... something interesting did happen... thus the post.

Well today I was working (at Macy's) and I work in the handbag department, so I was helping this nice lady find a bag, anyway I get to the point when I am ringing her up and see that on her credit card her name is Barb Peabody?! Well I asked the nice lady if she had any relationship to PEABODY LANDSCAPING?! (a company I have admired in Columbus ever since we moved here) Well she said "Why yes the owner is my HUSBAND." Reallllly? How interesting.!!!! Augh!!!! Seriously!!!! (no I didn't exclaim that but I was thinking it) she asked "what is your relationship with the company.?" Well I went on to say that I adored the company and have been trying to get a job there since I moved to Columbus and that a previous professor of mine had highly recommended the company. YES. I made it through without sounding like an idiot. She gave me her contact info and told me to call a specific person in the company and tell them she had referred me there. SCORE!

Anyway this might not seem exciting to you but believe me it was exciting for me... You see I am getting very sick of selling handbags all day and wondering why I worked my butt of in school for four years??? And it is always a little nice to think for but a minute, a miracle could happen in your life. I don't want to get my hopes up because I have had a ton of disappointments in my life lately (Thanks Rob for being so wonderful and patient with me) but I hope this will at least lead to a first interview. Pray for me please I am going CRAZY doing what I am doing right now.

So Rob and I have a special place in California that we claim as ours.... over 3 years ago....Feb 17th 2006... we became engaged on a special beach in Carmel CA. It was so cute Rob had planned the whole thing out. We toured all over Carmel in the morning and then at sunset we went down to the beach...as we are walking in the sand Rob points something out...so we walk over to this spot and he has a blanket laid out with rose pedals and lit candles. He is so cute and I am so grateful to have such a wonderful husband. This spot in the pictures is where all of our commitment started 3 years ago. It has been a great three years!

I get so BORED during the winter. Always being indoors get gets kinda depressing by the time February rolls around. Today is one of the first days it really feels like spring is coming. It is in the 60's today!!!!! Yay! I went out for a jog and took in a breath of fresh spring air and realized how grateful I was that I had a healthy body so that I could run around and enjoy the simply pleasures of spring... Birds chirpping, clean fresh air, new buds on trees etc. I love spring!! If anyone feels up to a bbq in the near future give me a call, I'm in.

Our NY Trip!

Ok, this won't be pretty, but I figure I will post something on here since Megan hasn't had a chance to do it yet. We had an absolute blast in The Big Apple this last weekend. I don't think we could have had a better time to be honest. We stayed in Times Square as you can see in the photos, the view was great! We were able to see the whole south end of the Square.Friday was awesome. We left Columbus at 6 am and reached the hotel at 9 am. We were actually on the same flight with a friend of mine from work and her boy friend and we ended up spending most of the day with them. Krysta and Ben are new friends of ours and we went all over Manhattan with them from Wall Street, to Canal Street where we bought some "Bling" and the World Trade Center. We had some good laughs, got lost in a couple of subway stations and then they headed off to Westpoint to watch her brother's hockey games.

Friday night Megan and I went and saw the most amazing show called In the Heights. If I can, I will put some songs on this thing, but that means I have to learn how to! It was full of great dancing, singing and acting. I would recommend it to anyone that visits the city! This is a bold statement especially since I love Phantom of the Opera and have seen it live twice, but it was even more entertaining! Yes, I know its Phantom, but that's how good this show is.

Before the show though we went to a great restaurant called Alfredo's that was beyond superb. Saturday morning we woke up and went to brunch at the infamous Bobby Flay's restaurant, Mesa Grill. We had some good food there, not as great as we had hoped, but very good none the less. After that we decided we would go down to get a view of the Statue of Liberty, and we ended up getting on a ferry and going out there. It was a lot of fun.

We wanted to go to Ellis Island too, but it got too late and we needed a break from walking. Then we had some great pizza at a great place under the Brookly Bridge in Brooklyn.

It was a great walk, especially for the fun atmosphere and great food. We had to wait in line for over 30 mins too, but it was worth it. Afterwards we "had" to go to Macy's for Megan's sake. We were quite surprised and dissapointed with how terribly messy the shoe department was, but we had a good time anyway. We had just enough energy after our long day to go grab some delicious cheese cake at a place across the street from our hotel called Juniors. It was on Throwdown with Bobby Flay. It was really good.

Sunday was another looonnng day. We headed out on the subway to Queens where we got some great Ecuadorian food! It was like a whole different world out there. Everything on the street was spanish, I felt like I had left the country. The food was as good as I remember in Ecuador, and Megan even loved it! Take that Dad! After walking forever again, having to change trains twice or 3 times, I don't even remember anymore, we made it to the NYC temple where we met up with Megan's friend Chelseanne for church. The rest of the day was spent walking around Central Park, 5th Avenue and playing checkers in the park! We had so much fun just laughing away.

That is a pretty detailed rundown of our trip! We loved it, and want to do it again! We may make this a yearly trip, who knows. We had a blast going to the show, being out together on a real vacation together, just us.

New York City here we come!

I can't really describe to you how excited I am about my upcoming trip or how fabulous my husband is. So we leave tomorrow for our Valentines trip and up till this morning I didn't know where we were going. This morning I was running off to work and got in my car to hear some music I had never heard coming from my CD player in my car. I flipped to a different track and I didn't recognize that song either. After a few more flips of the CD track I realized someone had put a new CD in my player. I knew nobody had been in it since I had been in it the night before. The CD that was in the player was the SOUNDTRACK to "IN THE HEIGHTS" a BROADWAY MUSICAL!!!!! Hello! Rob had put it in my CD player before he headed off to work earlier. Can I just say I love my husband. So that little hint limited my guessing down to two places, New York and Chicago. Well when I came home for work I came home to more exciting surprises. On my bed was an open suitcase with our flight confirmation to New York City!!!!! As well as menus to all of the restaurants Rob had booked reservations for us at. These restaurants include: The Mesa Grill (For you food network lovers this is BOBBY FLAYS restaurant!!!!), Alfredo's of New York (THE restaurant that invented alfredo, seriously)Bar America (brunch)and Bistecca Fiorentina. After I read through all these delicious looking menus... Rob comes into the room and reveals to me he has plans to go ice skating in CENTRAL PARK and out for New York style pizza as well fulfilling my dream of going shopping at all NINE floors of the Macy's there in NYC. Needless to say I am FREAKING out!!! I am so excited and I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight.

Rob is surprising me with a little weekend get away trip. I am not sure where it is but I am so excited. He let it slip that we were flying there (where ever it is) the other day and that he had all our dinner reservation already set! We haven't been on a vacation just the two of us since our honeymoon, two and a half years ago, so I can't wait to get away from home and just have nothing to do but hang out with my best friend. He took me out on a date this past weekend to find a nice dress and a new pair of shoes for a special night on our trip. I am so excited to get all dressed up in my new outfit and go out. Yay! I love you Rob, Thanks for planning this. I am sure I will do a post when we get back, we leave February 6-9.

My dress is a little different than this. It has shorter sleeves and it is black. It is Jones New York and I got a killer deal on it. I love love love it!!

These shoes are sooo cute and even more comfy. They are from naturalizer and I got them on sale for only 25$, what a steal of a deal.

Rob an I have truly been blessed this year! We had such a fun Christmas spending time with my family here in Ohio. We both received many beautiful gifts. Rob got an acoustic guitar, camera lens, Best Buy money, food storage and the new Guitar Hero. I got a coach purse, silhouette (crafting paper cutter), a beautiful new pearl ring. We each got a bunch of fun things in stockings too (Thanks Lance and Quin)! Thank-you friends and family for wonderful presents and thank-you even more for being a part of our lives. We love you. Our family celebrated in all the traditional ways... We had a gift exchange with all the kids on Christmas eve and had a special finger food dinner, afterward we all shared our testimonies of things we had learned this year. On Christmas morning we opened presents and then had a big breakfast together, later we drove up to Michigan to celebrate at my grandparents house with all of my extended family. It was a wonderful day. Here are some pictures of our celebration.

Best Birthday Ever!!

This past Sat. was my Birthday and my nice boss gave me the day off. It was a perfect day, I haven't had such a perfect day in a while. In the morning Rob and I slept in. When we finally got up at 10:30 AM I opened my presents... I got a sweater and a black dress coat along with some Disney DVD's and sewing stuff. I love all my gifts. Later on we went out for lunch at Mongolian BBQ (one of my favorite places to eat EVER) and I got to go shopping at one of my favorite stores Joanne Fabrics (I know I am a dork) and buy a new craft project. The day played out with watching movies more good food and lots of quality time spent with my favorite person in the world! Rob I love you so much thank-you for a perfect day!

Side note: After my Birthday I felt overwhelmingly grateful for everything I have been blessed with. I love my life and am so grateful to have a wonderful husband, a nice place to live, a loving family and fun friends. Thank-you everyone who makes my life so happy, I love you all.

Not your ordinary Gingerbread House

So at church they had an activity with all of the families to make gingerbread houses last night, but since Megan and Lance had to work, we decided that we would just have our own little activity. As you can see from the photos, these aren't your ordinary run of the mill gingerbread houses. Lance and I made the big one, and Megan did the creative little one. Lance and I spent way too much time on ours to be honest... a few hours... but it is awesome. The roof is supported with tresses inside and we have a lot of infrastructure. We had a blast doing it, even though the tweezers to put the Nerds lights on took forever.

This past weekend our friends Brock and McKenzie were here in Columbus. It was so fun to see them again and to see how much their little baby boy had grown. It really made Rob and I miss all our Rexburg friends. While they were here, McKenzie showed me how to digital scrapbook and made this cool blog header for me. I love, love, love it!!!! Tis the season for Giving

Ok, well I was at work and saw this video and thought it was only fitting that I post this blog. I think it is too often the custom today that we focus on ourselves during the holidays. By ourselves, I mean our families and our close friends, but this little boy made me take a step back and realize that this is not about gifts and receiving, it is about giving. Right now, we are each blessed with more than we realize.

If you are reading this, you are probably doing it from the comfort of your home on your own computer. I am reminded of something that Jesus Christ said regarding giving. To paraphrase he said that there will always be someone in more humble circumstances than we are in, and that we must give as much as we can to help those in need. He also said that even if we don't have anything to give, we must have that desire to give in our hearts, to help those that stand in need of comfort, to clothe those who have no clothes and to feed those that have nothing with which to feed themselves.

Megan doesn't know this yet, but we are going to go and work a soup kitchen at least once in the next month, or take food to a family that may be in need during this time of economic hardship. When we have worked that kitchen, I will try and find somewhere where we can lend a hand at a food bank or other organization whose focus is on those that struggle.

I hope you are each touched by this video and that you help fulfill this little boy's wish to help the homeless and the hungry. Share this video on your blogs, or email it to your friends because this truly is a something that we each should do this holiday season!

I love Christmas more than any other day of the year! I have so many good memories of Christmas and therefore I start looking forward to Christmas in June. This year I have held off as long as I can and finally put up the tree. After I was finished decorating I turned all the lights of and sat on the couch just to look at the tree, listening to Christmas music and sipping hot coco. Merry Christmas everyone!! Amish Paradise

So my parents are in town this week and we decided that we would head up to Amish country. It was a lot of fun getting to go into some of the shops, have some Amish food for dinner, some delicious cheese and saw some furniture and quilts. Megan and my mom were all over the quilt shop, but I can't believe how much those things cost. We saw a quilt that was like $750! How crazy is that?! I guess they were nice, Megan would have to comment more on that because
she was so impressed that they were hand done. I couldn't tell, so whatever. The little village where we were was a place called Charm, Ohio.

The people were super nice. They would all wave to you as they rode by in their Buggies. It was hard to get any good pictures of them coming at me because they don't like having their picture taken. Here are some pictures from our little trip.

I usually don't like to talk politics but let’s face it people, this is a critical election this year. Our country is facing some major crises. That being said I would like to take a moment to encourage anyone reading to go out and VOTE!!!!

The whole country seems discouraged right now. People are losing hope in America and our government systems. But I am still very grateful to be in this country and enjoy the freedoms I have. Many people will rag on the government for hours on end and only see the negative. Everything we hear is negative but what about all the positive everyone is ignoring. We receive or mail every day, we aren't told how to worship, we have the right to go vote for our leaders, we enjoy new roads and libraries, schools and parks. While all this negative is going on around us, let’s look at all the good that government does. Many of our elected officials and nominees promise little hope for the future and run negative campaigns that only dull the American spirit. Vote for those who have positive alternatives for the future and believe in the goodness of American government and fight the corruption in congress.

I believe there are many individuals on our ballets today that truly want to make America better. Even though they might have faults they are good people. Please go vote on the 4th we need to make strong choice this election!

So sorry about the speech I just feel strongly about this.

I don't want to use my blog to advocate any particular party but I wanted to post some of these fun pictures Rob and I took at the Sara Palin rally. We had a great time going and hearing Palin talk about the issues. She is truly a woman to look up to. Rob and I got seats really close because one of my friends at work is working for the McCain campaign.

This wasn't the only rally we were able to attend though my friend also got us tickets to the McCain and Schwarzenegger rally on Friday. That was great fun to, and holy cow Arnold is huge!!! He has the broadest shoulders I have ever seen.

Rob has been playing on an adult soccer league and this past weekend by little brothers were able to play with him as subs. They all played great and I was able to catch a few good action shots.

An exciting thing happened just this past weekend, I had the opportunity to attend a Horticulture Research Retreat at Ohio State. It was fun because I got to meet with many of the professors and tour the campus to see if I would like to do graduate work there. As of now I am undecided on whether I want to continue in school but it was could to at least go and see the options and become more comfortable with the school.

Well other than that the past month has been fairly uneventful I had my first two filings so that was a horrifying experience. I also found out that I need to have my wisdom teeth taken out after they have already grown in so that is something I am looking forward to and oh ya here is the kicker, I get to wear a night guard!!! Yay! I haven't had dental insurance for the past four years and my teeth apparently reflect that sad fact.

On a happier note I had the fun experience of setting my little brother Luke up with a cute girl in my ward for her school homecoming. It was Luke's first real date because he just turned 16 and he wasn't allowed to date till after his birthday. It was fun to spend the weekend with him and go to take pictures of him. I felt like a mom at the girls house. I took like a million pictures and I think I embarrassed him.

Weekend in Cali

This past weekend Rob and I visited California to spend time with family, golf and enjoy breathtaking views in Carmel. We had a wonderful time and didn't want to leave come Monday. Stephen (Rob's little brother) had his farewell on Sunday and gave a wonderful talk. He reports to the MTC tomorrow and we will all miss him dearly for the next two years while he is serving in the Chile Concepcion South Mission. We Love You STEPHEN!!!!

My First Business Trip

So, I came out on my first business trip to Washington DC the last couple of days and I got a couple of hours after some meetings tonight so I went out and took some pictures out around "The Mall" in DC. I have posted a couple of photos that I took. I haven't had a chance to get home to my computer yet, so none of them are edited yet. I will take a look at them and if they need to be updated, I will post them here when I get back to Columbus.

Oh yeah, I was texting my best friend Jared, and when I thought about him, I thought about his Grandfather who was MIA in the Korean War, and this was the first time I have been able to go to the Korean War Memorial so it was a neat experience to pay my respects to thos great men that gave their lives for our freedom. Ok, so after my previous post I forgot to tell you that Rob and I bought tickets to the So You Think You Can Dance Tour show here in Columbus. Yet another symbol of my dorkiness. I think I am in love with Will! Why did you let him go home America??? Please someone tell me before I go around punching random people in the mall that I think would have called in to vote for anyone other than to one and only dancer to steal the show.

Sometimes I can't believe how dumb we humans are? Tonight Rob and I laughed our heads off in our own living room over a "Hole in the wall" commercial (a Japanese game show that has made its way here to America). I can list about a half a dozen other genuinely dumb shows that have affected our lives forever. What I don't get is how I can dedicate so much of my life to such mindless shows, but I love it. Ha-ha. And it's not only shows its books too. I am a sucker for time wasters.

So, consider this a shout out to all you Office, Lost, 24, Bachelor, Twilight addicts. I feel ya!!!

Tonight I watched the final episode of my recent favorite addiction "So you think you can dance" I literally started crying at one point. I found myself clapping out loud multiple times and yelling at the TV. I wonder what I could accomplish with all my wasted time, but I really don't care enough to change my ways.

New Car!!!

Yay!! For the first time in my life I have my own car. Rob and I have been looking at vehicles for a while and decided that an Altima was the car for us. We signed the paperwork today and are very happy about the choice. Here are a few pics.

The interior is my favorite it has a push button start. You just have to have the key in the car to start it, it can be in your purse, under the seat, in the trunk, wherever and you just push a button.
Sorry this picture is so random but finally we have our kitchen unpacked and the accent wall painted. We love it here in our new apartment it is the perfect place for us right now.

Family Fun

This past weekend my family came down from Toledo to hang with us. I forgot how much I miss hanging out with my little brother Luke and parents. It feels like forever since I have just been able to have fun with them like old times. While I was at college it was different coming home for holidays and events because everything seemed like it was being fast forwarded. Now that they live closer, we can actually relax and enjoy eachothers company.
We had a blast and went to the pool on Saturday. We went down the slides and did all kinds of childish pool games. It was a wonderful day. On Sunday I did some cooking and baking with Luke, one of our favorite pasttimes together.
I was excited when my mom surprised me and told me Luke could stay and hang out with me for another 3 days. Yeah, we are going to have so much fun this week, we have all kinds of activities planned for some brother sister bonding time.

Weekend trip to Hocking Hills

Last Sunday we met some new friends and they invited us to go on a trip to Hocking Hills this weekend. It was great fun, we rented a cabin there and had some little mice friends come and visit us during the night. Haha
On Sat. we went to this really cool cave called "Old Mans Cave" it was named after a man that made the cave his home in the 1800's. It was really fun to see the cave and the cool waterfalls inside. After we were done with our little hike we watched this really fun bird show given by one of the parks naturalists. It was fun to see and learn about the local carnivorous birds. I loved the owls especially the really fluffy one (Barred Owl).

We are finally moved in, we have little loose ends here and there still but at least everything is unpacked. Last weekend my parents and youngest brother Luke came down from Toledo to help us unpack along with Rob's uncle Ron who lives here in Columbus. It was so nice to have family close enough to help us. Thank-you everyone we love you.
We just found this cute table at a local furniture store, we got it for a great deal, we feel so grown up.
Mom and Dad Hall gave us this beautiful bed for a graduation present Thank-you so much guys we love you and miss you.

The living room is very similar to the layout in our last apartment.
You can kinda see one of the accent walls in this picture it is the one with the curtains on it. There is another wall painted in the kitchen that I will post later. We really love it here in so far the apartment is so much larger than our previous apartment and we really are enjoying the extra space.

Tornado Warning

We just got into our apartment five days ago and already we have had a tornado warning. It was really fun for Rob because he has never experienced severe thunderstorms like this. The sky was gorgeous! I don't know how safe it is that rob is standing out on our balcony recording this but, Anything for the BLOG. Haha. Pictures of our new apartment will be coming soon we just need to get all the little things put together.

Ok so I am sorry I haven't posted in forever it's been a busy few weeks. Rob and I graduated finally, yeah!!! We are so happy to be done with school. After graduation I went to Ohio with my sister to spend a week with the family. We had a great time but I missed Rob, it felt so good to get off the plane and see my handsome husband waiting for me with Michael Buble concert tickets. Yep thats right we are going to his concert and I am so excited it is this coming Saturday.
So for the next 2 months we will be in California with the in-laws taking it easy. We have a couple of fun trips planned, first we are going camping in Yosemite this next week and then heading to Utah for Rob's brothers wedding, then a family trip to Hawaii and finally a trip to Columbus Ohio to look for houses before we move out there. COLUMBUS!! Go figure!! I can't believe we are moving to my home state, we are so excited though. Rob got a great job with a company called Sterling Commerce it is a software company and he will be working in the finance and marketing department. I am very proud of him now I just have to find a job, ha-ha, I am sooo scared. I have a couple good options there in Columbus though.

So Rob is in Houston TX and with my extra time I thought it would be a perfect time to start our own little blog. I know I am behind the times. Well here is an update on us, Rob and I both graduate in one month. Hurray!! I am so excited it feels like we have been in school forever. Rob has been busy interviewing all over the place recently, thus the trip to Texas. He got his first offer in Columbus, OH. this past week and we are hoping to get a few more so that we can make a decision on where to move. After we move I will start looking for a job with a local landscape company and until then I am just going to relax and enjoy a break. For now we are just enjoying our last few weeks here in Rexburg, ID. and spending plenty of time with my brothers and sister. It is fun to have family so close and we will miss them when we leave.
